Do you accept insurance?

We accept select insurance plans and can provide you with a superbill for out-of-network reimbursement. Many families receive partial or full coverage for midwifery care. We also offer payment plans to make our services accessible regardless of financial situation. During your consultation, we'll walk you through your options so cost is never a barrier to the care you deserve.

What happens if I need to transfer to a hospital during labor?

Your safety is our highest priority, and we prepare thoroughly for every scenario. We maintain collaborative relationships with Austin-area hospitals and obstetricians, and we have clear transfer protocols in place. If a transfer becomes necessary, we accompany you to the hospital, provide your medical records, and stay by your side as your advocate. Statistically, the vast majority of planned home births proceed without complication.

How far in advance should I contact you?

We recommend reaching out as early in your pregnancy as possible — ideally in the first trimester. This gives us the most time to build our relationship, provide comprehensive prenatal care, and prepare for your birth. That said, we welcome clients at any stage of pregnancy and will do our best to accommodate late transfers of care when availability allows.

What areas do you serve?

We serve families throughout the greater Austin metro area, including Round Rock, Cedar Park, Leander, Georgetown, Pflugerville, Manor, Buda, Kyle, and San Marcos. If you are within approximately 60 minutes of central Austin, we can likely provide home birth services. Contact us to confirm your location falls within our service radius.

Is home birth safe?

For healthy women experiencing low-risk pregnancies, planned home birth with a certified midwife is a safe and evidence-supported option. Numerous studies, including a large 2014 analysis published in the Journal of Midwifery & Women's Health, have found comparable outcomes between planned home births and hospital births for appropriate candidates. We carefully screen every client and discuss any risk factors openly so you can make fully informed decisions.
